Hi! I'm Berit, thanks for being here!

Berit is a food loving Registered Dietitian who joined On Nutrition in February of 2016. She has been working at the University of Rochester, Healthy Living Center since July 2014. Along with a Bachelor’s in Social Work from SUNY Fredonia, she has also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Management from RIT, and completed her dietetic internship through Cornell University in June 2014. Berit is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine practice group, and serves as the Speakers Bureau Chair of the Genesee Dietetic Association.

Berit has currently been working with patients in a nutrition counseling setting for issues pertaining to weight loss, high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, and gastrointestinal disorders. Berit is very knowledgeable of the conventional evidence based research in these particular areas, but also applies integrative options for her patients. Berit believes in focusing on not only treating the symptoms, but considering the needs of the whole person. She feels strongly that in order to reach optimal health, one must focus on their physical, emotional and mental well-being.  In Berit’s work with individuals, she is dedicated to setting reasonable goals, creating meal plans, and always supporting autonomy. Berit has a passion for empowering individuals to understand how nutritious foods and a healthy mind-body connection can transform their lives.
